- Exercise: Communicating with your Astral Judge
Step off the rollercoaster of emotional highs and lows. Release childhood traumas and fears. Express your inner beauty and sensitivity and make the world a better place with Astral Judge Work.
MONITOR: We are pleased that each of you came with your fine partners, your Astral Judge Selves. You are among the privileged few who recognize this often neglected aspect of the human personality.
Expression of the Astral Judge Self through History
The Astral Judge Self has been neglected because it has been unrecognized, even though it has been quite apparent in human behavior throughout history. It has given much of the color, ritual and collective action to humanity. It represents that part of the personality which loves to express in costume, mask, drama, dance, music and in ritual which utilizes those elements of expression. The Astral Judge Self is willing to present a performance through the physical body in performing ritual more often than engaging in inner dialogue with the Outer Self.
Becoming Acquainted with the Astral Judge Self
You, as Outer Selves, have had opportunity to become acquainted with your Astral Judge Selves with some concept of their true nature. As you deepen your relationship, you may unlock many resources, powers and talents which your Astral Judge may wish to express. The key to opening this relationship lies in your willingness to listen and genuinely attend to what your Astral Judge expresses. Your attention becomes your most potent tool in relating to the Astral Judge.
Suppression by Mental Judge Self
As the least developed and refined aspect of the Maldekian personality, the Astral Judge Self has been frequently suppressed and denied by its counterpart, the Mental Judge Self, who often views it as rebellious, impulsive, thoughtless and embarrassing. Of course, you have learned that the Mental Judge Self is over-preoccupied with maintaining control. The Astral Judge Self is not. It gains a sense of empowerment, or a sense of control, through its drive for action. It thrives on creating performances. It learns from its performances in ways that it is not able to learn without them.
Fear of Rejection by Other Selves
The Astral Judge Self has much to learn in collaboration with others of its kind, with Basic Selves, and with Higher Consciousness. If it is limited by its fear of being rejected, abandoned or suppressed by others, the typical Astral Judge will seek some form of expression, even if it is undertaken in desperation.
Expression in Performances and Rituals
The Astral Judge will demonstrate its fears, angers, sadnesses, regrets, frustrations, resentments. All that it feels is placed into action in performances. Its performances are frequently repetitious because of its difficulty in learning specific lessons concerning specific emotions or relationship challenges. The Astral Judge is ritualistic and bound to follow past patterns, yet if sufficiently free of fear, it seeks out novel forms of expression and thus modifies its rituals.
Many feelings of emotional compulsion in the human personality derive from the Astral Judge. These may be distinguished from the sense of mental compulsion generated by the Mental Judge.
Distinguishing Between Mental and Astral Judge Selves
As an Outer Self sensing the deeper elements of your personality – the Inner Selves – you may distinguish between your Mental and Astral Judge Selves by noticing the predominance of thought or feeling. The Mental Judge Self emanates from a position in the mental body, generating incisive and often brilliant thoughts. The Astral Judge Self acts from a position in the astral body, where it relies upon the flow and cycle of emotions, urges, impulses and desires. These factors are prevalent in its communication with the Outer Self.
Transformation of Astral Judge Self
Realize that you, as Outer Selves, hold the key to the transformation of your Astral Judge Selves. You may offer them friendship, and through your assistance they may respond. Like the Mental Judge, the Astral Judge Self is suspicious of your friendly offers. It tests your sincerity. It watches what you say you will do and compares it with what you actually do. If your actions match your promises to it, the Astral Judge will respond readily. It often seems childlike in comparison to the Mental Judge. It responds with an open heart, once its fear is partially resolved.
If its fear is intense, the Astral Judge will express it through you. If you, as an Outer Self, sense that fear affecting your physical body, we advise you to make contact with your High Self and request that it supply the Golden Light of Grace to your Astral Judge who will be comforted by the act of caring and by the vibratory qualities of the Golden Light. If you ignore its suffering and stress, it will eventually sabotage your life experience so that you too will experience equivalent suffering and stress. It does so only as a means of reaching out to you, especially in situations where it is severely suppressed by the Mental Judge.
Gaining Aid of Mental Judge Self
The Astral Judge strongly needs the support of the Outer Self. The Outer Self may first need to discuss the matter with the Mental Judge in order to gain its acquiescence in working with the Astral Judge. If this is done, the Mental Judge will be less likely to sabotage communication between the Outer Self and the Astral Judge. If the Mental Judge can be assisted to perceive the distinct advantage of helping the Astral Judge evolve, it will be likely to aid in the process.
Most Mental Judges dissociate from their astral counterparts. They assert their own needs first. They feel the need to stay in control of their situation, which includes the relationship with their astral counterpart. Such an impasse increases the suffering for all elements of the personality, even for the Mental Judge. Therefore, you, as Outer Selves, may find it advantageous to assist your Mental Judges in realizing the benefits that they may gain from rendering assistance to the Astral Judge.
Mental Judge’s Karmic Obligation to Astral Judge
The Mental Judge has a karmic obligation to the Astral Judge. It is required, by virtue of its role as co-creator with the Maldekian Soul, to assist in the evolution of the Astral Judge.
You, as Outer Selves, may greatly advance the evolution of your personalities by assisting in removing the barriers between your two Judge Selves. As they unite voluntarily, they rapidly gain both willingness and ability to connect with their Soul, thus bringing to them the vibratory illumination which frees them from their glamours and illusions.
Astral Judge Self as Impulsive Child
If you gain the image of your Astral Judge Self as an impulsive child, you grasp some of its nature. Yet you may find, as you build bridges of trust, that the Astral Judge demonstrates talents and true genius. Your most productive approach lies in encouraging its performances. Your power can best be expressed by raising questions that cause it to perform with clarity of purpose.
Distraction by Astral Force
The greatest difficulty of the Astral Judge lies in its distraction by changing currents and eddies of astral force. You may assist by helping it develop consistent, sustained mental focus, where it may act with purpose and perceive the consequences of its actions. Only in that way may the Astral Judge learn how to purify its purposes and motives.
Achieving Mental Focus
It requires assistance in achieving effective mental focus. You cannot force it into such a focus, but you may invite it to respond to a question and give it opportunity to express in the way it wishes to express its response.
Because the Astral Judge is directly connected with its Soul, it may express – without knowing it – the qualities, concepts and intentions of its Soul. Only upon reviewing its demonstration of such elements, will the Astral Judge comprehend how they directly emanate from its Soul.
Hell and Limbo
Most Astral Judge Selves are lost in the illusion of separation and all of its glamours. They consider themselves lost. They have lost their home, and they do not appreciate being in Earth. They protest their circumstances by acting out their rage, fear and frustration.
Because of their large numbers, which exist in the billions, Astral Maldekians have created and sustained the first two levels of the astral plane, those which may be identified as “hell” and “limbo”. When sufficient numbers of Astral Maldekians have realized their continuing essential, vital connection with their Souls, they will demonstrate their ability to clear the first two levels of the astral plane of most of its dense confusion.
Hierarchy’s Plan to Assist Astral Maldekians
The Hierarchy has found it next to impossible to educate the Astral Maldekians directly because they fear beings of Higher Consciousness and thus react defensively when approached by members of the Hierarchy or delegated agents.
The Hierarchy, therefore, has activated the plan of humanity, where increasing numbers of Astral Maldekians are absorbed by their own voluntary act of will into the human personality, where they evolve to a point of conscious reconnection with their Souls. When sufficient numbers of Astral Judge Selves evolve to that level of awareness and ability of expression, they will comprise the force for transforming their compatriots remaining in the astral plane without engagement to humanity.
Restoration of Maldek
Thus each person plays a role in this vast plan of transformation. The plan yields benefit to all involved and is ultimately directed toward the benefit of the Planetary Beings of Earth and Maldek. When sufficient numbers of Astral Judge Selves have achieved Soul Illumination to the point where they complete their full course of lessons presented in Earth, groups of them will be transported by the Hierarchy back to their home planet, Maldek. There they will participate, with their mental counterparts (e.g. The Mental Judge Selves) and Souls, in reconstructing the etheric and physical planes of their planet. That restoration will coincide with a significant advance for the Planetary Being of Maldek and the Solar Logos.
In these vast schemes of growth, you may sometimes feel insignificant, yet we remind you of the wisdom in taking each step upon a long journey. Each step adds to the accomplishment of the journey. And so the work and play that you share with your Astral Judge Selves brings both you and them closer to fulfillment.
We believe this is sufficient for questions and comments.
Question and Answer
Q1: Age of First Manifestation of Astral Judge
DONNA: Monitor, at what age does the Astral Judge tend to manifest itself? Very early?
MONITOR: Do you mean in the age of a child?
DONNA: Yes.
MONITOR: In infancy. Often the Astral Judge Self displays moments of pure enjoyment of the new physical body and its possibilities of existence, yet in the next moment the Astral Judge Self may become threatened or enraged at some slight. It demonstrates through the human personality through all years of life. Thus its actions only need to be recognized, for they are quite evident in each person.
Q2: Movement of Astral Judges through the Astral Plane
JULIE: Monitor, you said a few minutes ago that the Astral Judge Selves help—if I’m getting this correctly—help to create the first and second planes of the astral plane, which we call “hell” and “limbo”. I’ve noticed that my Astral Judge Self seems to be able to transverse the levels from very low to high. Sometimes I can’t tell it from the High Self, and sometimes I can’t tell my Astral Judge from my devic Female Self, who is so dramatic and shifting. Is this a correct view that Astral Judges can traverse all of the seven levels in the astral plane?
MONITOR: No, normally they cannot. They are limited normally to the lower three levels of the astral plane by virtue of the vibratory forces they have created in their astral bodies.
An astral being may only enter a vibratory level compatible with the vibrations built into its body. It builds the quality of vibrations by its choices and activities. An Astral Judge Self who is attuned to the first, or “hell” level of the astral plane, has difficulty moving beyond it. It may, for brief periods of time, move out of its customary level, yet will be drawn back there as though by gravitation. It is not gravity operating in that instance, but the law of attraction. Like attracts like in the realm of form.
Thus, the impression that you have had of your Astral Judge Self will benefit from some clarification. Your Astral Judge Self is able to traverse from the first to the fourth level of the astral plane at this time. It has gained this ability through experiences of training in what you consider “past lives.” Only a relatively small number of Astral Judge Selves are willing to pursue such training in any physical lifetime.
Between physical lifetimes, when they are free of the etheric and physical focus generated by the personality’s needs, Astral Judge Selves normally go to the level of the astral plane in which they feel most compatible. Feeling compatible does not necessarily mean feeling comfortable, yet they do experience a form of comfort in the sense of being in a familiar place.
Your Astral Judge Self has had sufficiently sustained experiences in the first four levels of the astral plane that it may reside, at least briefly, in any of them. It feels most at home in the third level yet can traverse the first four levels.
Q3: Entertainment Media and Astral Judges
MARY: The preoccupation and popularity of entertainment media offerings that present features of the first astral level, such as hell, Satanism, monsters, horror, that kind of thing – is that related to the level of development or the emotional state of the Astral Judge Selves of the populace?
MONITOR: Yes. Of Astral Judge Selves and the astral elements of Basic (Male and Female) Selves. Most of the entertainment media throughout human history has focused largely upon the Astral Judge Self as its lowest common denominator.
Astral Development of Basic Selves
The astral development of Basic Selves, male and female, may at times exist at the same level as Astral Judge Selves. Yet Basic Selves normally learn more rapidly and evolve to higher levels of relationship and other developmental needs than do Astral Judge Selves.
Need for Linkage with Mental Judge Self
Astral Judges in this time of history lag behind Basic Selves in many respects. They lag behind primarily because of the dissociation between them and their mental counterparts. Without sufficient mental capability, an Astral Judge Self does not comprehend much of its experience.
It used to benefit, on its home planet, from close collaboration with others of its kind. They functioned in groups which were the equivalent of human tribes. They learned much from observing each other. Their self-knowledge came from their ability to collaborate with each other more than from their connection with their mental counterparts. Thus, when more persons achieve a positive linkage between their Astral and Mental Judge Selves, they will demonstrate more rapid progression in learning lessons and clearing themselves of obstructions such as maya, glamour and illusion.
Have we addressed your question?
MARY: Thank you, Monitor. Yes.
Q4: Communication with Astral Judge Self
HELEN: How can the Outer Self assist in helping the Astral Judge be more open in communicating?
MONITOR: The Outer Self needs to realize that the Astral Judge is not a child yet needs to be approached as though it were a child. If you, as an adult, approach a child with a question, you need to keep the question simple and clear. You need to allow the child an opportunity to respond to the question. If the child does not possess enough verbal capability, it will need to express its response to the question by non-verbal means.
These simple guidelines help the Outer Self to be receptive to the Astral Judge. Allow it time to express in the way it wishes to express. Remember to ask the question, “How would you prefer to express your response to the question?” This gives the Astral Judge opportunity to choose a means of expression. Your giving it that choice allows it to respect your caring for it. If you do not give it a choice, it may feel suppressed.
Remember that if your Mental Judge desires to suppress your Astral Judge, it may trick you into ineffective means of communication with the Astral Judge. Your repeated failures in achieving that communication may lead you to become so frustrated that you give up, which may be the goal of your Mental Judge Self.
To offset that possibility for manipulation, we recommend that you ask your Mental Judge for its support before attempting communication with your Astral Judge Self. If your Mental Judge gives support, you may notice it because your mental focus will be more clear and sustained during the time you focus your attention on your Astral Judge.
Dramatization and Artistic Expression
The Astral Judge needs your acceptance of a variety of forms of communication. It often does not prefer the use of human language because language seems to it so inadequate and slow. The Astral Judge more often prefers direct dramatization or some form of artistic expression which expresses much more in a brief time than the use of language. However, we advise using a mixture of verbal and non-verbal forms of communication with the Astral Judge. In that way, you, the Outer Self, have a better sense of contact and perhaps greater clarity of meaning. However, your Astral Judge is likely to prefer non-verbal means of communication.
Daily Communication
If an Outer Self desires communication with the Astral Judge, it gets best results by seeking that communication at least once a day. Communicating at less frequent intervals only tends to reinforce the Astral Judge’s perception that the Outer Self truly does not care and is making only a token effort at communication. Remember the Astral Judge does not sleep and has a broader option of time streams than does the Outer Self. Also, it may not appreciate the limitations of the Outer Self’s mode of experiencing time.
Desire for Instant Gratification
The Astral Judge is childlike in the sense of wanting instant gratification. Its actions in the astral plane can often yield instant gratification, but when its actions need to be channeled through physical activity, it often feels frustrated that gratification is delayed. Therefore, the Outer Self may take care to explain its experience of physical time. Otherwise, the Astral Judge Self is likely not to understand the difficulties facing the Outer Self. It interprets those difficulties as a lack of caring about it.
HELEN: Could I follow that with another question? I would like to ask whose idea it was when I took the fall from the bicycle.
MONITOR: Your Astral Judge.
HELEN: Thank you, that’s what I thought.
MONITOR: It was frustrated by a lack of communication. You, the Outer Self, were attempting communication sporadically, in its view, and it felt that you did not appreciate its suffering. Therefore, it caused you, the Outer Self, to suffer as well.
HELEN: What was it suffering from before that?
Divine Fire on the Astral Plane
MONITOR: It has been frightened concerning the group changes taking place in the third level of the astral plane as a result of the Hierarchy’s use of Divine Fire in cleansing the astral plane. Its fears were not being addressed. It did not feel supported by you. Even though you have said the words that you offer love and support, it did not feel that you acted in a manner consistent with your words.
HELEN: Well, she was probably right.
MONITOR: In our view, yes.
Q5: The Inner Child
JULIE: Monitor, would you tell us if this aspect that we call the Astral Judge Self is similar to or the same as what many psychologists are calling the “Inner Child?” Is that the same energy?
MONITOR: In most instances, yes. However, a minority of instances involve the Outer Self encountering an aspect of either the Male or Female Selves who have experienced trauma in childhood either in the present lifetime or an earlier lifetime. In most instances, the Outer Self encounters the Astral Judge Self in the image of the hurt child.
Q6: Dreams and Astral Judge Self
MARY G: Monitor, if the Astral Judge Self doesn’t sleep, yet the Outer Self does, is the Astral Judge Self then active in our dreams? And would working with our dreams be a good way to communicate with it?
MONITOR: While the Outer Self sleeps, all of the Inner Selves remain active. They may go their separate ways, or they may act collaboratively. They may choose to share experiences or give messages to the Outer Self during sleep, which the Outer Self recognizes as dreams. Thus, some dreams come from the Astral Judge Self. They may be recognized if the Outer Self gains sufficient depth of relationship that it may perceive familiar patterns of emotion, impulse and concerns which identify the Astral Judge.
Working with dreams comprises a useful way of communicating with the Astral Judge Self. One example involves asking the Astral Judge Self to assist in solving a specific problem faced by the Outer Self. Before sleep, the Outer Self may mentally say, “I ask the assistance of all Selves, but specifically ask my Astral Judge Self, to suggest solutions for this specific problem.” The problem needs to be identified with clear mental imagery which communicates to the Astral Judge Self.
This approach can yield surprising results. The suggestions of the Astral Judge Self may at times be couched in true comedy yet remain viable suggestions for the most part.
We agree with your suggestion that working with dreams offers a valuable form of communication with the Astral Judge Self.
Q7: Who participates in Ego?
JULIE: Monitor, I’d like to ask this question for Arzani. Is there a relationship between the Judge Selves and the concept of “ego?” If so, can one live without ego on the physical plane? And can one live without Judge Selves on the physical plane?
MONITOR: We define “ego” as resistance demonstrated in the personality, resistance to evolution and growth. The resistance is generated by all of the Selves at various times. When Judge Selves are found in the usual state of fearful isolation, they create much of the resistance which may be called “ego.” Once they are befriended and accept the way of friendship with the Outer Self, they lose much of their resistance. At such times, it could be said that the amount of ego in the personality has declined.
Basic Selves may also generate resistance and participate in ego. Therefore, if a person wishes to explore their ego or resistance, they are well advised to assess each Self in identifying significant resistances and the fears underlying them in the various Selves. A diligent Outer Self will discover that it, too, generates resistance based on fear and thus participates in the creation of ego.
Do People Exist Without Ego?
Do people exist in the physical plane without ego? Only Ascended Masters who have graduated from the learning opportunities offered by the lower planes, graduating successively from the physical, etheric, astral and mental planes.
When a person achieving Spiritual Mastery has progressed to the point of releasing the physical body and translating it into its essential etheric form, they normally arrive at a point where the Judge Selves may be released from their personality. When released, the Judge Selves return to aid their compatriots in the astral and mental planes.
The personality, at that point of mastery, is then able to focus more rigorously on its spiritualizing disciplines and acts of service to all of Life. Some Ascended Masters return to the physical plane for brief periods of time to accomplish specific missions. They are the only ones in human form to lack ego and Judge Selves.
Q8: Sub-Selves of Astral Judge Self
JULIE: Is there an advantage in a person having dual aspects of their Astral Judge Selves, and if so, what is it?
MONITOR: Some Astral Judge Selves present themselves in multiple images. Each image represents a significant theme of development in the single Astral Judge Self. With such a fragmented presentation, the Outer Self is well advised to become acquainted with each separate image of the Astral Judge Self. These images may be described as “sub-selves,” who need to pursue their own course of development until they achieve sufficient capability to unify. When they unify, they present a single image of the Astral Judge Self. When they present themselves in fragmented images, they are still part of one being, yet are developing with different, but complementary courses of learning.
Because the Astral Judge Self is heavily invested in emotion, impulses and desires, often its sub-selves pursue different emotions, different impulses, or different desires. When they have learned what they need to learn and achieved what they need to achieve, they merge. The Astral Judge Self is thus strengthened.
Sub-Selves of Basic Selves
This situation is similar to the formation of sub-selves of the Basic Selves. Each sub-self presenting needs to be befriended and assisted to complete its course of learning. Even though the personality with sub-selves finds its existence more complicated and filled with conflicting or competing interests, it is given the support it needs by the High Self to assist in the evolution of all sub-selves. Unity is gained stage by stage until the personality achieves Spiritual Mastery and fulfillment.
Q9: Multiple Personality Disorder and Possession
JULIE: Are the fragmented sub-selves what is usually these days called “Multiple Personality Disorder?”
MONITOR: Yes, in most instances. However, in some instances a personality has been intruded upon by the sub-selves or Selves of a disincarnate personality seeking physical expression. Therefore, Multiple Personality Disorder approximately 85% of the time consists of conflicting and disorganized sub-selves, and 15% of the time consists of what may be termed “possession by another entity.”
JULIE: Thank you. I think that’s all of the questions we have.
Closing Comments
MONITOR: We are pleased that persons, such as yourselves, have grown comfortable with the thought that you are multiple personalities. That does not mean that you are dysfunctional, but that you are realizing the richness of your personality structure. Persons who grimly hold to the concept that they are unitary in structure are like a person who appreciates only one petal of a flower, or only apple on a tree. With your acceptance of multiple Selves in your personalities, you permit greater enlightenment of your personalities and hasten the day in which your personalities join with your Souls.
Recognizing Astral Judge Dynamics
In conclusion, we ask you to recognize, in your personal lives and in many public actions, how the dynamics of the Astral Judge Self are expressed. Observe the news, the entertainment media and the actions of your friends, family and neighbors. Note the expressions of the Astral Judge Self in the majority of human actions. Consider which actions are promoted by Astral Judge Selves who are locked in isolating fear and anger.
Evaluate what you can do to improve your own relationship with your Astral Judge Self. Once you have achieved an improved relationship with it, ask your Astral Judge Self to assist its counterpart in other people around you.
Encourage it to link with its Soul, whether or not it is willing to relate to the Mental Judge Self. With such actions, you may learn much and demonstrate even more. You may take practical actions to improve your life and the prospects of the planet.
We thank you for sharing with us this evening, and we look forward to the next discussion on Judge Self Dynamics. We have sketched some of those dynamics in this presentation. Please review those dynamics and formulate questions which will permit us to enter a more in-depth discussion on our next meeting. We bless each one, and we leave you now.
GROUP: Thank you, Monitor.
Exercise: Communicating with your Astral Judge
Seek assistance or non-interference
Before we close, we suggest a homework assignment. Prepare at least one-half hour of time for communication with your Astral Judge Self. Ask all other Selves to assist or at least not interfere. If you have concerns about the motives of your Mental Judge Self, specifically dialogue with it to obtain its agreement not to interfere.
Ask about hopes, fears and modes of response
Ask your Astral Judge Self a question which derives from your honest exploration of your relationship with it. You might ask what it most fears, or what it most looks for. Then ask it what mode of expression would it prefer for its response.
Allow it to express artistically
You may have means of artistic expression, such as artistic media for drawing and painting, making music, dancing, playing, or costumes for dramatization. You do not necessarily need to have expensive costumes, but rather be open to use, for example, a hat or a sheet, or some other object that your Astral Judge Self wishes to utilize in its performance. Ask what music and other factors it prefers. It may desire a certain type of lighting. Then, to the best of your ability, allow it to express its answer to your question.
As you give it this opportunity, your Astral Judge Self will appreciate your actions as supporting your intent for better communication. If you do this once, you may find it easier to present a similar opportunity again and again. You will find much benefit in performing this exercise more than once. We encourage you to explore this potential for developing substantial communication between you and your Astral Judge Self.
